Teachers Experimental Learning in Marine Science
This C-IMAGE supported STEM course is designed to provide hands-on watershed education for Florida teachers using the Tampa Bay estuary to foster experimental learning and stewardship. This extended professional development course includes:
a) four outdoor, coastal, field-based learning experiences
b) GLOBE certifications for hydrology, atmosphere and soils, and
c) classroom follow-up to implement watershed field experiences and lessons, on or near school grounds.
Join us aboard a research vessel, paddle down a river, and explore the geology and ecology of the Tampa Bay watershed.
Course Activities
Online component – Literature review on major science concepts and Tampa Bay watershed
Outdoor field components – Fresh/salt water excursions and land based sampling
