About Making Waves

Say you've found the perfect wave that will carry your students to Enlightenment - the one that will ripple through your class and engulf your students in a sea of enthusiasm for science and math. Right?Reality check, please.
Welcome to Making Waves, a multimedia approach to learning that offers teachers and students an insider's view of current, relevant ocean science research efforts.
The truth is, it's tough convincing your students that science and math aren't boring.  Those textbooks probably just aren't cutting it.  You need something fresh - something cool - to get those kids interested.  Luckily for you, the United Nations designated 1998 as the International Year of the Ocean (that's when we started this project), and we're here to help you unlock the mysteries of the ocean for your students in a way that will bring science and math to life in your classroom.

Making Waves will start them all surfing for science!
